Masks Not Required for In-person Worship

Posted on Thu, Jun 8, 2023

Wearing facial masks are now optional for in-person worship. Please click on the link above for details

Pastor Woodard announced to the congregation on Sunday, June 4, 2023, that church leadership will no longer require the wearing of facial masks to participate in our in-person worship. However, disposable surgical face masks will still be available for use by those who feel more comfortable wearing a mask.

Those who are most vulnerable may still want to wear a face mask. And of course, those who are sick should remain at home until their symptoms subside. Those experiencing minor symptoms are encouraged to wear a facial mask in consideration of others.

The Pastor also said that we estimate moving to the next phase of reopening to be the spring of 2024. Until then, we will continue to restrict observance of annual days to a brief recognition during morning worship. We are also not open to returning to full fellowship with our sister churches until then. Of course, all of this will depend on community conditions and any new variants that may arise.

For the foreseeable future, we expect to continue with abbreviated worship and using both Zoom and YouTube video for Sunday morning worship. We will continue to have our Wednesday evening Bible Study by Zoom.

Zoom will also be available for meetings during inclement weather, and for other meetings as desired throughout the year.
